The New Direction

It is said that hind sight is 20/20. Looking back we can see so much more clearly. Now we see what God was doing. Gene Bacon has been prophesying to Leslie and I for over eight years. We know what he prophesies comes from God-his prophecies come to pass every time. He has given over 6,000 prophecies to people who have attended meetings and Crusades of The Prophecy Club ® without one complaint! That is amazing! The only way that could happen is by God!

In mid-1998 Gene Bacon prophesied, "Your changing directions; God is changing directions in your ministry. It is going to go in a new direction, a direction you have not considered." In 1999 he prophesied that we would be teaching, training and equipping the saints to do the work of the ministry, and that these training teams would go international.

When I heard these prophecies I had no idea what they meant. I wondered, "What are teaching, training and equipping teams?" More on that later.

What is the new direction? In 1998 The Prophecy Club ® was doing just fine. It was having meetings in 37 cities; 4,000 to 5,000 people were attending meetings each month. It was growing at about 300% a year. Why would we need to change directions? I was happy with where God had brought us and the direction we were going.

At the time I was sure there was no turning around, delaying or stopping the prophesied judgment on America-the Russian surprise submarine launch of nuclear bombs on America. God is more forgiving than we could possibly imagine.

The Subtle Change in the Spirit

Around October of 1999, I noticed a subtle change in the warnings coming from the Prophets-it stopped. I thought we would hear some more soon, but we didn't. In June of 1993, when The Prophecy Club ® first began broadcasting information on judgment; the Russians will attack, the New World Order, black helicopters and such, was almost nonexistent in America. I will liken it to feeling a sprinkle of rain. We feel a sprinkle of rain and look up and see no clouds, then feel another sprinkle. A few minutes later another sprinkle. The information was like that sprinkle. Occasionally I would get additional information. In those days we were one of a handful of ministries on Bible prophecy and perhaps the only one openly warning of judgment by a surprise Russian attack, I am not sure. At least the only one I knew of at the time.

The sprinkle slowly turned into a rain storm. By mid 1998 to early 1999, it was a waterfall. Watchmen sprang up on radio and shortwave stations all across America. Newsletters arrived at our office from across the country that were blasting information on problems from Clinton to black helicopters. Prophets across the country and some from foreign countries were screaming the warning-God is about to judge America. Many were getting dreams and visions, all with the same or similar message. America has sinned and turned from the God of it's fathers, and God is going to bring a mighty judgment on America. In those days The Prophecy Club ® was on the forefront blaring the warning. It was about then when I was approached about the Y2K problem. The computers are going to crash they said! All around the globe, all at the same time! I was not quick to accept it as truth. As I did with many speakers when God laid a subject on my heart, I waited to see if several incidents of it or circumstances where it was put in front of me (in the mouth of two or three witnesses...) would confirm that this was the next subject God was wanting The Prophecy Club ® to take to His people.

I remember about the third person who came to me with the Y2K problem was very convincing. "I program computers.... I know they will crash," he said.

I still was not quick to jump. "Are you certain it can't be fixed? So what happens if somebody comes up with a $10.99 computer program on a floppy disk that repairs the problem?"

We were not alone. Ministries across the country blasted the Y2K warning. The big secular news programs finally had to say something or let the Christians out scoop them.

Y2K Frenzy

From 1993 to 1998 the warning of numerous prophets seemed to have gone mostly unheeded by most Christians, but this new Y2K problem got people's attention. It was as though people believed the secular news more than God's prophets. It was almost as if to say, those Christian prophets will lie to me, but when the godless national news programs say it on television and in the newspapers, it must be true. We saw people buying supplies to survive Y2K. The frenzy caught most of the world, especially America.

The Warning, the Judgment, Y2K, What Happened?

All of a sudden, just prior to Y2K, the warnings stopped. As I said, the information from what seemed to be all the prophets stopped almost overnight around October 1999. I saw our response to the warning begin to drop. At the time, understandably, the same national news programs that had joined us blowing the trumpet now changed their mind. They were saying Y2K was repaired. The Y2K experts, whom I was in contact with, did not buy it. "No way could they fix the Y2K problem," they said. I thought the response drop was caused by the possibility that Y2K was repaired, and many were going back to sleep now that the threat of Y2K was over. I did not see what had happened and, dare say, you probably did not either.

As time went on, our response to the warning message continued to drop. On January 1, 2000, when the national news reported there was no problem-and did so in a way almost mocking those who were expecting trouble-we saw a nose dive in response to our program. Putting aside the human response, I believe God controls His ministries more than people's response. Why? Why would God stop His support of a ministry that He started? (The radio station called me and asked me to do a radio program; I didn't call them.) God sustained it through impossible odds. Public meetings in hotel rooms on Bible Prophecy doesn't work without God making them work. Hundreds have tried and lost their financial shirt trying it, yet God prospered The Prophecy Club ® , but now support was supernaturally dropping. Some scoffers cursed the ministry and hoped it would die, but I knew better. I knew God had always held it up, but now He was allowing it to slide. Why?

Some were saying it was the speakers we had. I will agree there were five, out of the 100 speakers, I regret ever putting on tour. But if you think about it for a minute, a 95% success rate is excellent! God does not expect perfection. We should strive to be Christ-like, but God understands we are human. The only people in the world who expect and demand perfection are the Christians-the ones who are supposed to be the quickest to forgive. I believe, to this day, God was sending us the speakers He wanted on tour. Some speakers performed above their natural talents, some below, and five messed up their opportunity. But that is why Jesus died on the cross, so we can get our sins forgiven. I still believe everyone of the speakers, save one, was supposed to be on tour. I did not agree with everything they said, but I knew God gave them the opportunity to speak. Some just dropped the ball and let their flesh get in the way. What we were supposed to do is find the truth God put in the speaker and throw the rest away. Just as we want our oranges with the seeds and peeling removed, so some people expected the flesh and error to be removed for them, and got mad when they discovered it wasn't. Speakers, good or bad, were not the reason response dropped. God was sustaining the ministry through difficult times. The response of the people is totally controlled by God. The response was NOT dropping because of anything I, The Prophecy Club ® or a speaker did or did not do. God was in control.

One More Comment on Y2K

Before I leave the Y2K subject, I need to say one more thing. Many have called, written, e-mailed and approached me in person, and said, "Brother, you were right on in warning people about Y2K. You did not need to apologize." Others with love said, "You went overboard. You didn't need to say all of that in your apology newsletter." Others said, "I prepared for Y2K and I am glad I did. You never told anyone to buy anything. If they bought something to prepare for Y2K, it was their decision. You have nothing to apologize for."

I appreciate your love, prayers and your support, and pray you will continue. I do need to explain, why I DID need to apologize. I agree with your opinions that are stated above. The reason I needed to apologize is spiritual.

You have to understand that we can have clean hands and a clean heart and have done nothing wrong, and can still leave an offense in the spirit. Thousands of people were offended in the spirit when we warned them of the potential Y2K problem and it did not occur. In the spirit there was a great offense. I agree people should have understood. They should not have been offended, but that is beside the point-they were offended. Their offense left a great offense in the spirit-as Abel's blood cried out from the ground, so to speak. This offense was coming up before the Father.

They thought I had lied to them and let them down. They expected a national prophetic warning ministry to give them the truth. I wanted to give them the truth. I gave them the best truth I knew, based on the information I had. But the fact is, Y2K did not happen like we said, nor to the degree we said. I believe God gave the world a great deliverance. How do you explain it when a computer that had been tested by rolling the date forward crashes? Many computers had been tested and they knew they would crash-but they did not! Third world countries that had no money to repair Y2K problems, yet their computers did not crash! But, but... they knew they would crash... but they did not! God gave us a great deliverance and there is no other explanation.

God's people should have thanked the watchmen for their bravery and efforts to warn them. They should have praised God for supernaturally repairing the computers. Instead, they called them false prophets and spiritually stoned them and cursed them. Thousands walked away from this ministry wagging their heads. There was a great offense in the spirit. That offense was against me and this ministry. I had to solve that spiritual problem. I had to apologize and do so profusely and emphatically. Not everyone accepted the apology. (But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses . MAT 6:15)

In early December 2000, I had a man make a few calls to some of our people on our database. Some were very supportive, but some were so angry, if they could have, they would have reached through the phone and punched the guy in the nose! Whew! Where is the love in that? Yes! I had to apologize. They may not accept the apology, but the offense in the spirit had to be remitted. Gene Bacon brought it to my attention, pointing it out by the Word of the Lord. I received his correction as unto the Lord, made the apology, and later Gene said the Lord had accepted it and I have no further need to apologize.

Let me tell you how much I tried to reach everyone. Two of our best supporters donated an extra $10,000 each just to mail that newsletter to all names on our mailing list which were added in the last seven years. Anybody who did not get one can blame themselves for never signing up for it or not keeping their address current with us. I did my best to get the apology to them-on the air, in the newsletter and on the internet. Gene Bacon later prophesied to me that the offense in the spirit was remitted. I am free. Anyone who continues to hold an offense needs to read MAT 6:15 again.

Questions I Had to Find Answers to...

Why was God allowing His ministry to slide? Now I look back and I understand. The answer is, He was changing two things. He was changing the direction of The Prophecy Club ® . Secondly, He was changing my heart from a salesman to a minister-sometimes with my cooperation and understanding, sometimes without. I just did not understand. He had a greater plan, a better, bigger job for me to do. I believe it was because I had been faithful to fight an uphill battle against the normal Christian teachings to get a message to His people that He wanted to be delivered. He was bringing a reward-a better ministry-a bigger ministry. I just did not see it until now. I just wanted to warn people of the coming judgment, but that apparently had changed. I believe the Power of Jesus Crusades! will grow far bigger and reach more people with a deeper impact than The Prophecy Club ® .

Why Did God Stop the Tours?

Why did the warning of many prophets all stop at the same time around October of 1999? Why was God allowing our response to drop? At the Florida Crusade, Gene Bacon came forward with a prophecy. You can read the entire prophecy in this newsletter. It seemed to be indicating revival was coming-no mention of judgment. Then Ed Lixey, another one of the prophets who ministers with us at the Crusades, called with another prophecy (also in this newsletter). It also mentioned, "Revival has hit the ground." In early February 2001, an idea came to my heart. What if judgment has been delayed? What if the reason God stopped telling His prophets that judgment was coming was because it had been delayed? What if He stopped the meetings and was allowing our response to drop because judgment was delayed? What if the message was received and enough people prayed and repented to delay the Russian attack? I began to ponder the idea. God seemed to lay something even stronger on my heart. "Don't tell my people judgment is imminent any more," was what I kept getting in my spirit. I will not guarantee it is from God, I am NOT saying, "Thus saith the Lord." I am simply talking to you friend to friend. It was what I was feeling in my heart.

Don't Tell Anyone!

I thought, I can't tell anyone that judgment may be delayed because I don't know for sure! I am still not convinced. To totally believe judgment has been delayed, I would need more convincing which I have not received. I don't have enough information to convince me that judgment has been delayed. It would be very dangerous to God's people to say that if it were not true. Besides, it would tend to put people to sleep again, and the Lord knows how difficult it was to wake them up. We sure don't want to put them to sleep again! So, I continue to watch.

One Big Excuse

I could just hear scoffers saying, "Well, the false prophecy club is covering for its lies! When Russia does not attack, now they conveniently tell me it is just not coming because God has delayed it!" But, I know God has been supporting The Prophecy Club ® all the way. If the scoffers will think about this for a minute, they would realize saying judgment has been delayed (and I am not saying it is yet, just talking) would NOT be in the best interest of The Prophecy Club ® because it could cause some to go back to sleep and fewer desperately needed dollars to flow into this ministry. Most importantly, God would not be pleased if I were to announce it and it were not true. If we look at this strictly through the flesh, and not take into account that God is holding this ministry up, we could see that trouble starting in America would be in our best interest. People would then respond by the thousands. But I have always endeavored to tell the truth, even to my own hurt.

As you know, I am transparent with you. If I have done wrong, I admit it. Let us look at that idea. In exactly SEVEN YEARS (June 1993 to June 2000 ) The Prophecy Club ® hosted around 100 speakers. Our first meeting was in August 1994 and our last meeting was in August 2000, EXACTLY SEVEN YEARS-SEVEN years of warning, and SEVEN years of meetings. Those 100 speakers said in one way or another that judgment is coming. Are we going to believe that all 100 speakers were false prophets? Are we so unfamiliar with God and how He controls everything to think He would allow a ministry to prosper for seven years by putting out false information and lying to His people?

Each month we would get from one to three new speakers to put on tour. Then in June of 2000, EXACTLY SEVEN YEARS from the start of The Prophecy Club ® , it stopped. I mean, no more new speakers. Normally, I did not even have to make a phone call seeking them. In most cases they contacted us. In June of 2000, it stopped cold. In case there was any doubt on your part about who was running The Prophecy Club ® (there was not on my part), this should erase all doubt about who was sending speakers to The Prophecy Club ® .

The Jonah Effect:

The best prophet may be a false prophet.

If you think about the story of Jonah for a moment, you will realize that if we go by "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." DEU 18:21-22 as our only guide to when God speaks, then Jonah was a false prophet. One thing is constant with God, He reserves the right to change His mind and He does not mind making one of His prophets look like a false prophet to spare the lives of His people!

If you think about it, the best prophet is one that can sell his warning message as Jonah did, and convince God's people to repent. ( The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance . 2PE 3:9) Apparently what happened is the warning of judgment, combined with the threat of Y2K, put enough people repenting and praying to delay the judgment. ( If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face , and turn from their wicked ways ; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land . 2CH 7:14)

The Phone Call

I aired a broadcast covering this possibility on February 23, 2001. You can listen to it on the website at www.prophecyclub.com called "New Direction." The next day a listener called and said another national prophecy ministry, which aired two hours before ours, interviewed a man who was saying the same thing-that judgment has been delayed. He said four hours after our program, on the same day, another national watchman ministry openly proclaimed, "Judgment has been delayed." He called and said never had he heard anyone anywhere say judgment was delayed, then to hear THREE NATIONAL MINISTRIES saying the same thing on the same day was confirmation enough for him.

I am still NOT CONVINCED. I wanted more confirmation. I faxed a letter to the two ministries the man mentioned, asking them to confirm their position. I also faxed it to another international intercessor ministry after hearing they were getting the same thing. Apparently they are not convinced yet either, because I know the fax reached them but they have not responded to my letter. Perhaps they are keeping their suspicions to themselves-which is probably a good idea. I probably should be doing the same thing, and am probably making another one of those blunders by being open with you. Sometimes being transparent with those around you can get you in a lot of trouble.

I still felt a peace about doing "Intelligence Briefings" to update God's people, but the impression was strong on my heart not to have any more speaking tours and, "Don't tell My people judgment is imminent," was still heavy on my heart. Why? You don't suppose God has delayed the judgment?

Where Is the City?

As we drive toward a city, we see road signs that tell us how close we are to the city, i.e., Topeka - 52 miles, Topeka - 25 miles, Topeka - 3 miles, then we see the city. God gave us sign posts pointing to the time of judgment. In his "Four Pages Left" vision, Dumitru Duduman gave us some sign posts. According to my understanding of those sign posts, we would not go past August of 2000 until the Book of Life would be filled. The angel told him when the Book of Life was filled, the judgment would begin. Where is it?

We See the Towers, Where Are the Bombs?

Henry Gruver saw a vision in 1985 of submarines attacking America. He saw towers shooting up all across America just prior to the attack. On January 20, 2001, Henry spoke at the Intelligence Briefing in Topeka. He was going to give us an update on his six visions and six videos. In the talk he said the towers he saw shoot up in his vision he now recognizes as cellular telephone towers. The towers have shot up as he saw, but where are the bombs? Just prior to speaking he asked the Holy Spirit to guide his talk. He gave a great talk, but he did NOT give much of the update as was planned. At lunch the next day I told him I felt like he gave the correct talk. I said a minister cannot stand in front of God's people and tell them judgment is coming unless he is totally convinced that it is coming. I said, "Henry, you aren't totally convinced anymore, are you?" He said, "Well??................I will have to pray about it."

The sign posts said judgment four pages, judgment three pages, judgment one page. Now we are almost a year past the last sign post and have not seen the city, nor seen the judgment. I think it is safe to say some kind of delay has occurred. What kind of delay or how long God will delay it, I don't know. The big question is, "Has the judgment been stayed?" Not just delayed, but stayed? We could see a revolution start tomorrow. With the problems in Israel, we could see war in the Middle East this week!

Bottom Line

I think the bottom line is this. God has changed directions in The Prophecy Club ® from a sales based ministry, supplemented with donations, to a donation based ministry, supplemented with sales; from blasting the judgment is imminent warning to a more toned down message exposing evil, Bible prophecy and updating previous messages. He has raised up the Power of Jesus Crusades to teach, train and equip the saints to walk in power and victory. God is forming an army of power-filled saints to battle the darkness. God is bringing revival to the land. I do not think this is the worldwide revival. I believe, as you can read for yourselves, in the prophecies in this newsletter. The prophets are now saying revival has hit the land. I believe this is a revival for America. There have been pockets here and there, but the prophets say this is the long-awaited revival for America-not the worldwide revival-just for America.

My Heart

I am going to tell you what is on my heart. I am not saying, "Thus saith the Lord" to any of this. I am just talking, friend to friend-okay? When I left selling residential heat and smoke detector systems in 1981, I felt bored. I felt like I had climbed every mountain and won every award-having done what I was supposed to have done. The desire to do that job left my heart. Looking back now, I believe God took it out of my heart to move me to the next level. When I left filling and teaching sales, management and public speaking courses, I got the same feeling-boredom. I felt like I had learned what I was supposed to learn and it was time to move on. God just took the love of it out of my heart. I knew it was time for a change. You guessed it, I have the same feeling for Bible prophecy and the warning message.

God has changed my heart. My new interest, my new love, my new excitement is for being a ministering to God's people. I love the Power of Jesus Crusades and ministering to God's people. When I was in sales and management courses, I saw people change, but nothing like what I see in the Crusades. I love it! I love having people come up to me and hug me with tears in their eyes thanking me (I give God the glory. I know Jesus did it for them.) for what God through me, the Crusade, and God has done for them. I love to hear, "My life is changed. I will never be the same." The Prophecy Club ® is NOT gone, just in a coasting mode. It is ready, should an incident arise that would cause the response to pick up, to be back in full stride. But my heart is telling me to, "Go in the direction of God's power." In the meetings of The Prophecy Club ® , I felt in my heart that there was to be no trace of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, not even singing! It was to be an informational meeting ONLY! Now we have turned 1800. In the Power of Jesus Crusades there is no Bible prophecy! There is no information relating to warning of any kind, just the power of the Holy Ghost. Go figure? Why?

We Turned the Corner and God Is Inviting You to Do the Same!

Looking back now, I believe the reason God had me keep my name, Stan Johnson, off of the air and out of sight was because The Prophecy Club ® would not be my primary ministry. He wanted me to be a man of the Holy Ghost and of power! I always wondered why I felt led to stay in the background and be silent-now I know. The reason why God wanted The Prophecy Club ® to be just an informational meeting is because He wanted ALL people of all denominations to feel comfortable in them . The Prophecy Club ® has turned the corner from INFORMATION only, to the POWER of God, and I believe God wants you to do the same.

Many of you who have supported and followed this ministry tend to be interested in information. You might say, for lack of a better term, "information gatherers". Many of you like the information this ministry has provided but are reluctant, because of your religious background or your religious beliefs, and because of your religious norms, meaning the things you are comfortable with, to come to the Crusades. I understand. God understands. We don't like being uncomfortable. May I quote from our weight lifting friends, "No pain, no gain!" I feel it heavy on my heart to encourage you to come to the Crusade. You must turn the corner also. Please come to the Power of Jesus Crusades . I believe God wants you to and He will confirm to you that you should come. I believe God will touch your life in a way I can't put into words, and you will say it touched your life more than The Prophecy Club ® . We have turned the corner from information to the power of God and you should too.

A Personal Revealing-WYSIWYG

At the California Crusade a lawyer from Fresno came up afterwards and told me he had been following me for about two or three years. He said he had always felt my heart was in the right place and especially respected my apology in one of the newsletters. While there was a torrent of other ministries giving excuses about Y2K, I apologized. He said he respected me for that and admired my transparency. He said, "I was almost totally convinced you had the right heart, but wanted to know for sure. I came to this Crusade and one of the things I wanted to see was your heart in person." He said, "You might be able to hide behind the microphone or behind the printed newsletter page, but I am a good judge of character when I meet people in person. I knew you would not be able to hide if I were to meet you in person. Do you know what WYSIWYG is?" he asked.

I said, "Yes."

He said, "You are a WYSIWYG, 'What You See Is What You Get'. I not only got a chance to meet you close up, but also your wife, two of your children and your staff. You are a WYSIWYG. You are a real person with a good heart trying your best to serve the Lord."

I said, "I am too dumb not to be totally honest with those around me. I find honesty is the best policy, and the easiest to follow. I just be myself." I went on to say, "You found me out. When others could not see... and misread, you hit it."

He said, "Now that I have had the opportunity to meet you, I want you to know you can count on me. I am going to support you. I will not just pray for you, but I will financially support what you are doing. The Prophecy Club ® is a great blessing and this Crusade is changing people's lives. I will be a real supporter."

A Personal, "Personal Prophecy"-What Is In My Future?

"I have heard your cry, and I have said, yes and amen. I have seen the willingness of your heart to change. I have called out of heaven the anointing you have asked for. This is the day for a new way; a new anointing; a new level.

I have called you out of darkness into my marvelous light and now I am going to show you My light. With one step at a time you have come through much trouble and trials. You have passed the test; made the turn; made the changes. Now your are going to see My power, in ways you haven't expected; in ways you haven't seen or thought of.

Because you have chosen to call these ' The Power of Jesus Crusades : because you have harkened to the Word I sent My prophets; because you have not lifted yourself up; I have chosen to give you My POWER in these Crusades.

Search me now with all your heart. Learn My heart. Learn My heart for you; learn My heart for My people.

'Thus saith the Lord' shall follow you closely, and through it I will use you to bless My people. The Crusades are just now beginning. A new Spirit resides in you-a new anointing. Old things have passed away-behold I make you new; a new call; a new direction.

I will bless the work of your hands. Whatsoever your hands findeth to do-doeth it with all of your might and I will give it to you.

Make a place for My Apostles and Prophets and I will make a place for you. Great things lie ahead; great responsibilities. The job has just begun. Many will run to the Crusades. I will lift up all that is mine. I will tear down and destroy all that is not. I am preparing My Bride and you have a part in that preparation.

Run to me with all your heart and I will run to you. Together we have many things yet to do. I will prepare My Bride to walk in power and victory."

As you read the prophecies in this newsletter, I believe you will get a witness of what God is wanting to do. I want to do it. I believe you want to help see it accomplished also, but I have a problem. We are out of money. Please pray to God that He will speak to His people and they will hear and respond to His voice. There is an urgency He will put on your heart to support this ministry. Please respond and help us continue this important call.
